Damage control de Degica sur Steam
Darius Burst CS Price Point
Hello everyone. I've been following the discussion on the price point and wanted to quickly share our perspective on things.
I understand that it's high for a lot of users - I totally get that. I'd have liked a lower price point too, but ultimately we needed to respect the wishes of the developer, and also charge enough for the developers to make a good income on their development investments.
Here is what you'll get for that investment: A top notch arcade game with beautiful 3D graphics, a superb soundtrack, and a *ton* of content spread out over several modes. The original aspect ratio of the game is preserved, so if you have two monitors, the picture is massive. This game has also never been ported to a home console before, so it will be completely new to most players.
AC Mode includes Original mode, which closely emulates the original arcade game, EX mode, a harder difficulty campaign, and Chronicle Mode.
Chronicle Mode is huge. It has around 3000 areas. When you play Chronicle mode, you will select a virtual "cabinet" to play on. As you complete areas in Chronicle mode, you will liberate planets and unlock new areas. Whenever you "liberate" a world, it's also unlocked for all other players using the same cabinet. You can compete to see who can liberate worlds the quickest, or to see who can get the highest score on each world. It's an interesting MMO-like feature that's unique to DBCS.
I'd also like to clarify that this is not just a straight port! In addition to AC Mode, DariusBurst CS also has an entirely new single player campaign called "CS Mode", with over 200 areas. Between Chronicle mode and CS mode, there is enough content to play for a long time. CS Mode is a brand new campaign created specifically for this game and is in addition to the authentic arcade reproduction.
I personally feel that, while the price is high, the presentation, features, and large amount of content in DariusBurst CS will offer a good value. DBCS is basically a big new single player game attached to a great arcade port. I hope it will be worth your investment, either at launch or during a future sale.
We're going to have a 20% launch discount for the first week (on the higher end of what Steam allows) so the entry price will be closer to 40 USD than the stated price of 50 USD. Thank you for your support and please let us know what you think. Ultimately, we want to make both the players and the developer happy.
